Anastasiia Biletska
Independent curator, collider, researcher based in Zürich.
Research & Practice:Operating at the intersection of art, design, and social research, I curate projects that connect individual artistic voices with broader cultural and civic contexts. Each exhibition becomes a platform for dialogue — a space where aesthetic exploration meets social imagination.
I explore how creative processes can serve as tools for rethinking social and institutional structures. My work focuses on building frameworks for collective practice, fostering horizontal partnerships, and developing infrastructures that support sustainable and systemic change.
My curatorial practice is driven by the belief that meaningful transformation emerges from conscious collaboration — through trust, shared responsibility, and a willingness to engage with the unknown.
Shorts:Since 2015, I have been curating collective design exhibitions within the frameworks of international events such as Bologna Design Week, Paris Design Week, and Milan Design Week.
In 2018, in partnership with Sana Moreau, I co-founded Ukrainian Design Brands — the first export platform representing the Ukrainian furniture design sector at Maison&Objet in Paris. The project set the foundation for a new narrative of Ukraine’s creative economy on the global stage.
In 2021, together with neurophilosopher Olga Duda, we co-launched Design Future Practice — a research-based initiative grounded in her Open Circle methodology (multidimensional methodology at the intersection of sciences and arts). This platform evolved into two further programmes: Design of Future and Design of Changes, exploring tools for shaping future scenarios and navigating complex change.
In 2022, I continued my research in Switzerland. Between December 2022 and January 2023, I developed and facilitated LAB 1, a workshop series exploring the radius of human gravity and impact on the surrounding world. It focused on method of prototyping for possible futures - designing the Future.
In 2023, together with designer and NGO Design4Ukraine head Jaroslaw Belinski, I co-founded Kyiv Design Week (KDW) — a international design festival launched during Zurich Design Weeks. The inaugural edition ran simultaneously in Switzerland and Ukraine. In 2024, KDW expanded to create design bridges between Kyiv, Paris, and Zurich, strengthening the cultural and infrastructural ties between the cities.
In 2024, together with strategist and cultural manager Lyudmyla Svetska, we collaborated with the team of Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation to design and implement an international communication programme dedicated to the Human Responsibility Day. The initiative centred on nurturing networks through participatory formats and civic engagement. It brought together young leaders, cultural practitioners, and educators across seven European countries through a wave of locally anchored events, culminating in a collective call to the European Parliament to recognise the Human Responsibility Day.
